Research Questions

My first research question I was thinking about doing is "How do the people Santiago meets reflects him at that point in his life?" Like I somewhat explained in my response paper about the Alchemist I said the Gypsy, the King, and the Alchemist reflect him. I think this would be the one I would do my paper over, but I have another possible research question.
"How did Santiago and Alice grow through their journeys?" The paper would explain how their journey alone made them grow and have more understanding of the world around them. This is just an option but i'm pretty sure I'm gonnna do my first question.

The Alchemist

I don't normally read books that has God as almost one of the main characters. The omens that the shepherd follows is how God instructs him to lead his life. Everyone is instructed somehow on how to lead their lives. In the Alchemist the character follows his omens and so far it has led him to possible the love of his life, Fatima. Almost every person that the shepherd has met has in someway pushed him towards this area. Even those who he hasn't met like the soldiers and leaders in the army. The world is pushing him toward her, who is probably the treasure he has been looking for.

Tim Burton's Alice

Tim Burton's recent version of Alice in Wonderland has the same characters but doesn't make them exactly like the book. The Mad Hatter for one is more eccentric with a dark side that shows every once in a while in the movie. The March Hare seems exactly the same in the book and the movie. He seems always upset and uneasy. The Dormouse is almost a completely different character. The movie made the mouse a female while in the book it is male. Also in the book it is always sleeping but not in the movie. The Cheshire Cat has the same attitude but is a lot more helpful in the movie then the book. The movie puts the book into a clearer view but I like how the movie ends more than the book.

Mad Hatter

I was having tea with the March Hare and the Dormouse as usual while this Alice came up and invited herself to tea. It upset me a bit that she thought she didn't have to ask to sit with us. It did not matter though because she brought new conversation. She was a little rude and did not answer my riddle i wish i knew the answer to. She would not even drink tea with us which was quite rude of a girl who claimed she was polite. I was quite happy when she left because we were left to the conversation that she had previously interrupted.

Queen Victoria

The Victorian Era in England was in the 1800's. It was called that because Queen Victoria was ruling England at that time. Queen Victoria was born in 1819 to Edward, the Duke of Kent and Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg. When her uncle died in 1837 she took over the throne. Due to her strict upbringing she ruled with an unmatched stubborness.
Queen Victoria married once to her cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. They had nine children together. When Albert died in 1861 Queen Victoria wallowed in self pity and the mourning kept her occupied which led to the evolution of England into the Victorian mentality. She became less popular in the 10 years of mourning that she did but eventually came out of it and her popularity steadily grew until her death in 1901.

Favorite Book

My favorite book would be a play that our class has chosen to read. A Midsummer's Night Dream written by William Shakespeare was introduced to me my junior year in high school. I took a Shakespeare class where we read a couple of his plays. A Midsummer's Night Dream stood out to me because it had magic, love, and adventure. The unrealisticness of how lovers mix up because of the manipulation from the fairies and how one characters head becomes a donkey's head.
